WiFi Planner estimates how a Wi-Fi signal spreads through a floor plan. It is free. There is no account, no sign-up, no payment and no advertising, and there is no limit on what you use it for, including commercially.
When you import a floor plan, the image is decoded, segmented into walls and measured entirely inside your browser. It is never uploaded, never transmitted and never stored. There is nowhere for it to go: this site is a handful of static files with no server behind them and no database anywhere.
The same holds for everything else you do here — router positions, wall materials, room names, stairwells, imported geometry. None of it is saved. Close the tab or reload the page and it is gone.
Exactly one thing: a single entry in your browser's local storage recording whether you accepted analytics cookies. Nothing else is written, and that entry never leaves your device. You can change or clear it at any time with the Cookie choice link at the bottom of the page.
If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics, which sets cookies and reports to Google that a page was viewed, along with an approximate location derived from your IP address and basic device and browser information. It does not receive your floor plan, your router positions or anything else you do inside the tool — none of that ever exists outside your browser.
If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. The script is never fetched and no cookies are set. Everything on the site works exactly as it otherwise would.
What Google does with data it collects is governed by the Google privacy policy.
The page loads two typefaces from Google Fonts. That request reveals your IP address to Google, and it happens as the page loads, before any cookie choice, because it is part of rendering the page rather than tracking. If you would rather it did not happen, any content blocker will stop it and the site falls back to your system fonts with no loss of function.
The coverage maps are the output of a propagation model, not measurements. The tool estimates loss from the wall geometry you give it using typical published figures for common building materials. Real buildings vary a great deal: foil-backed insulation, pipework and ducting, large appliances, mirrors, underfloor heating, furniture, people, and the neighbours' networks all change the answer, and none of them are modelled.
Treat the results as a way to compare one router position against another, not as a survey. Do not rely on them for professional installation work, contractual commitments, regulatory compliance, or any decision where being wrong carries a cost. The tool is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, and without liability for any outcome of its use.
